ABOUT THE MICHAEL RUBIN BOOK AWARD
The Michael Rubin Book Award is awarded annually to the best manuscript submitted by a student at San Francisco State University. Each year an independent guest judge selects the winner. 2009's judge was John Skoyles, established poet, author of THE SITUATION & poetry editor of PLOUGHSHARES. The book is published by Fourteen Hills Press in conjunction with the San Francisco State University's Creative Writing Department in a limited single printing, distributed to independent bookstores nationwide & on the web through Small Press Distribution.
